On Thursday 7th March our wonderful network of supporters came together to celebrate World EFTC Day!
From dinner parties to a ping pong challenge, scavenger hunts, Facebook fundraisers, and bake sales, every corner of the globe hosted brilliant events to raise vital funds and celebrate the global EFTC community!
We managed to raise an astounding £11,056 / $14,628 so far, with further funds still coming in!
This will go a long way to helping our students break the cycle of poverty through education at our School of Hope in Jocotenango.
Events in the UK
EFTC's Nottingham team had a very busy day jumping between a few office bake sales run by some of our UK supporters and sponsors, before beginning an exciting and energetic 12 hour Ping-Pong-a-Thon.
Events in the USA
Sponsor and former English teacher, Emily, organised the 2nd Annual NYC for EFTC fundraising night in New York City. Hot chocolate fundraisers and awareness lectures were also held by Brien and Marika from EFTC USA. There were also Facebook fundraisers from past volunteers and teachers, so a big thanks to Taylor, Paige, Maya, and Karen.
Events in Guatemala
This wonderful day began with a special assembly at the School of Hope where staff and students enjoyed dances, mime performances and speeches. There was also a donation yoga event, organised by volunteer, Rachael, while the Guatemala Outreach team at EFTC organised a musical bingo night and Scavenger Hunt.
